We’re excited to announce a new Artist Series case for the iPhone 5 Bamboo case designed by artist and illustrator Jeremy Fish. Maybe nothing could introduce him more fittingly than this description of Fish’s work by hip hop artist Aesop Rock:

“I would like to think that somewhere between full-blown, howling death and a basket of newborn kittens exists a climate where the malice and the mirth can mingle. A couple of daisies on your grave, a little venom in your cocoa, some broken glass in your bouncy castle. This type of polar mixer can serve as an intriguing, endlessly entertaining, true-to-life foundation from which a smidgen of lore can grow. Exaggerate the extremes even a little, and the stories, characters, and places that emerge warp accordingly. It is the recognition and exploitation of this tension that immediately drew me to the work of upstate New York-born, San Francisco-based artist Jeremy Fish.”

Aesop goes on to express that Fish’s images are never without backstory and meaning, and due to his practically locked-in-his-studio devotion, always executed with discipline and his best technique. While the world turns, Fish is holed up in his creative space, making prolific amounts of new work. “The guy is an art machine fueled by coffee, beer, and the occasional well-done burger [...] he makes pictures, he makes a lot of them, he makes them for himself, he makes them for the people, and he makes them from the heart. I am proud to say that I look up to him. You should too.”
